Polymers are large molecules formed by the repetition of small units called monomers. Monomers, through chemical bonding, form long chains, and when several chains are linked together, polymers are created. The word “polymer” has Greek roots and is derived from the word “poly,” meaning many, and “mer,” meaning part or unit.

Polymers can be either natural or synthetic. Natural polymers such as cellulose, starch, protein, and DNA are involved in the structure and function of living organisms. Synthetic polymers such as plastics, rubber, adhesives, foam and etc. are used to produce various materials such as nylon, bags, stretch films, cellophane, packaging, clothing, insulation, adhesives and etc.

Polyethylene, Polystyrene, Rubber  and ABS are examples of polymeric materials that Petro Nour Mehr Trading Company can provide.

Polymer Products

Polyethylene

Polyethylene (PE)

Polyethylene is the most widely used commodity plastic. It is available in many different forms depending on the configuration of its molecular chain.

Polystyrene

Polystyrene (PS)

Polystyrene is a synthetic polymer made from monomers of the aromatic hydrocarbon styrene. Polystyrene can be solid or foamed.

Rubber

Rubber

Rubber is an example of an elastomer type polymer, where the polymer has the ability to return to its original shape after being stretched or deformed.

ABS

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS)

ABS is an opaque thermoplastic. It is an amorphous polymer comprised of three monomers, acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene.

Polypropylene

Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene belongs to the group of polyolefins and is partially crystalline and non-polar. Its properties are similar to polyethylene, but it is slightly harder and more heat-resistant.
